IMF calls for fossil fuel support to be cut
Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), called on June 12th for fossil fuel subsidies to be cut worldwide. Lagarde said that governments should use fiscal policies such as environmental taxes or emissions trading schemes to make sure that harm caused to the environment was “reflected in the prices we pay”….

Renewables now the main source of new capacity worldwide
Each year the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) reports on investments in new electricity generating capacity, along with the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management.
